Meet our November Barre Star, Eileen! Eileen has been taking Barre classes consistently since February, and totally crushed the 20-in-30 challenge! With over 135 classes under her belt, we couldn’t be more excited to announce that she has been unanimously selected as our November Barre Star! Way to go, Eileen!
We are continuously impressed with her hard work, dedication, and consistency, and we are so excited to see Eileen continue to thrive at AUXO Fitness! Read Eileen’s Q&A below to learn more about her.
Q: Where are you from, and how long have you been in Gainesville?
A: I lived in Alachua until I was 21 and then moved to Gainesville.
Q: What’s your favorite Barre-themed shirt?
A: My favorite Barre shirt is, “Barre More – Bark Less.”
Q: Tell us something fun about yourself/what you do when you’re not at AUXO?
A: I have always liked cooking, even more so after I had a family. To me, cooking is an act of love. Besides cooking I like camping! I am also teaching myself to draw and I’m learning some new crochet stitches. I have one great husband of 26 years, four awesome, good kids, and a sweet baby granddaughter. When not at AUXO, I am doing the domestic thing, helping at our daughter’s school and at church.
Q: Was your first Barre class what you expected? Why or why not?
A: I had a general idea from a friend, but there were still some unexpected things about it.
Q: Why did you decide to continue with AUXO Fitness after your free week by investing in an unlimited membership?
A: I stayed with AUXO because I felt better physically, mentally, and emotionally and everyone is nice and encouraging!
Q: What makes this workout different from other exercises you have experienced?
A: AUXO is different from other places because you learn about form and how to listen to your body, rather than only focusing on the workout. Here at AUXO we learn when its ok to push a little further and when it’s okay to take time and modify movements.
Q: What is your favorite Barre move? Why?
A: I would say deli-slicers are my favorite…because I struggled with those at first, and now, I can do them.
Q: What results have you noticed after doing Barre/BodyFlow/Yoga consistently? Have you experienced any benefits from Barre that have affected you not just physically, but mentally, too?
A: When I attend consistently, I feel healthier and in a good mood. I also sleep better and have less stress and anxiety. When I do have anxiety, it does not last as long as it was before, and I have more self-confidence.
Q: What keeps you motivated to continue coming to Barre?
A: Besides the above responses, the atmosphere and the people motivate me to come to barre. Yes, it is a business, but it is easy to forget that it is.
Q: Is there anything you would like to share with potential new clients about your experience at AUXO Fitness? Any helpful tips for those who are considering trying Barre, but are nervous?
A: For people considering trying AUXO, go for it! This is a supportive, judgement free environment! After my free week, a neighbor asked what I was doing that was new because I was carrying myself differently than before!
